Kazakhstan Mining Group was founded in 2016 and is headquartered in Almaty. It is an integrated mining company dedicated to the exploration, mining, processing and trading of gold. Its core operating areas are the metallogenic belts of central and eastern Kazakhstan, where it targets two principal deposit styles, orogenic and epithermal gold, and has built a complete front-end exploration capability spanning regional geological mapping, geochemical and geophysical surveys, drill testing and resource estimation.
In development, the Group holds to a simple rule: the feasibility study sets the investment, and the grade sets the flowsheet. No project enters construction until pre-feasibility and feasibility studies are complete, reserves are registered with the State Reserves Committee (GKZ), and the environmental and social impact assessment and mining licence are in hand. Operating and development projects cover both open-pit and underground mining; processing is built around a gravity–flotation–carbon-in-leach (CIL) flowsheet with average recovery held above 93%, and all tailings report to filtered dry-stack storage under continuous online monitoring.
The Group's long-term strategy advances on three fronts, licences, capacity and capital: sustained exploration spending extends resource replacement; technical upgrades and expansion lift the cash margin on every tonne of ore; and a sound capital structure supports M&A and cross-border trade. We do not pursue short-cycle arbitrage on resources. Every mine is planned over a life of fifteen years or more, including the closure and reclamation plan drawn up on the first day of construction.
Resource endowment and operating base
- Six valid mineral licences over approximately 1,280 km² of exploration area, with gold resources of some 86 t; reserve reporting is being compiled to international frameworks for independent review
- Two gold processing plants with a combined annual throughput of 1.8 Mt, running a gravity–flotation–CIL flowsheet at an average recovery of 93.5%
- Group-owned site roads and haulage fleet; refined gold enters regional precious metals channels after treatment at licensed refineries
- More than 640 employees, of whom over 30% are technical staff in geology, mining and processing; the local employment rate is 92%
